As we mentioned in our last post, there are a lot of changes coming down the wire for Four Windows Books, and here is the first!
Part of what we aim to do with Four Windows is to help support new and underrepresented authors as they seek to get their words out to the public. In service of this goal, we are launching Four Windows Editing. Four Windows Editing will provide editing services to authors looking to self-publish as well as authors who want to give their piece a good, professional polish before submitting it to a traditional publisher.
Four Windows Editing will run independently of Four Windows Books and will be open to taking on projects of all genres, styles, and purposes. Know a new author with a finished piece that could use a critical, editorial eye? Send them our way.
Our base fee for editing is $0.0125/word, but we are offering an introductory discount for first projects of $0.01/word. This fee covers a full copy-edit of the piece, focusing on spelling errors, typos, grammar issues, and clarity. Developmental editing–looking for plot holes or pacing issues, etc–can be added, and the fee for this service will be negotiated on a case by case basis.
